Fellowship
We meet weekly on Sundays to worship God. The structure of our worship is patterned after the simple teachings found in the New Testament. We pray, sing, study God’s
Bible Classes: We offer a wide range of Bible classes that promote spiritual growth. Adult classes follow a quarterly schedule, covering both textual and topical themes. Special class are also offered throughout the year addressing important spiritual needs or concerns—marriage enrichment, parenting, addictions, and financial stewardship. Classes are also available for children of all ages.
Children’s Bible Hour: Children’s Bible Hour is offered each Sunday morning as children ages three through fourth grade go to a special class at the conclusion of the Lord’s Supper. The Sonshine Children study different Bible characters and Bible lessons as teachers try to achieve the ultimate goal of teaching children not only to love God but to love attending worship.
Wednesday Night Meals: Dinner is available in the Fellowship Hall for all members Wednesday evenings August – May. The meals are cooked by G W members. University students and visitors are also welcomed.
Nursing Home Services: We conduct worship services on a regular schedule at several area nursing homes.
CD Ministry: Our worship services are recorded on CD’s, and copies are made available as requested.
Groups
Bible Camp has grown by leaps and bounds over the last several years. Volunteers serve as teachers, counselors, cooks, and chaperones.
Youth Devotionals: Each month we plan Sunday evening devotionals for our youth groups.
Retreats: Each year we schedule retreats for youth groups, Gran-timers, ladies, and men. These times for devotional and fellowship draw us closer to the Lord’s work and to our fellow Christians.
Ark Builders: is a peer group consisting of families with children ages birth through the fourth grade. There are regular social activities for this group and a weekly Bible class taught by Jeff Wilson.
Gran-Timers (Senior Adult Ministry): The Gran-timers organize activities for 55+ age adults who work in teams involved in spiritual, service and social activities. Monthly dinner meetings and bulletin notes help communicate and encourage the many volunteer works among our senior adults.
…but prove yourselves doers of the word…James 1:22
Outreach Ministry: Outreach groups meet monthly for fellowship and to receive information about those who may need our encouragement. Teams are re-organized in March and September.
Life Groups: Twice a month (September to May), the congregation splits up into Life Groups, meeting in homes for Bible study and fellowship on Sunday evenings.
University Ministry: Jeff Wilson, our university ministry coordinator, works with our university interns to plan the university Bible class program, university retreats and fellowship events.
Community Service
Mother’s Day Out: The MDO Ministry meets on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 – 12:00. This ministry is designed for children ages 2-5 and for parents who need a short break in the middle of their hectic week.
