For our Visitors and Guests

What can you expect when visiting Granny White Church of Christ?

You can expect a loving family to welcome you and accept you for who you are.  You can expect a service with a simple worship, simple message, and communion modeled after the teachings of the New Testament.  You can expect to walk out with a feeling of belonging, purpose, and direction.

What time does everything begin?

On Sunday morning, we have class for all ages that begins at 9am.  The college class meets at 11:15.  Worship begins at 10am.

On the second and fourth Sunday nights of each month, we have Life Groups that meet in the homes of different members.  We also have a meeting at our building that begins at 6pm.

On the first and third Sunday nights of each month, we all meet in our auditorium for 3:16, which is a service of 16 minutes of worship, 16 minutes of devotional time, and 16 minutes of a question and answer session with one of our elders.  We meet at 6pm.

On Wednesdays, we have a Bible class that meets at 10am in Chumley Hall, a college class that meets at 5pm, and all other classes begin at 6:30pm.

Where should I park?
We have parking spots surrounding our building.  Feel free to park in any of them, but please leave the handicap spots for those who need them.  If the spots around the building are all filled up, we also have a lot just across Granny White Pike you may use.

What do I wear?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable while you worship.

Where should I enter?
Enter through any of our exterior doors.  There is a special handicap assisted door entrance on the north side of the building by the office.

What should I expect during worship?
Each week we, like the early church, share in the Lord's Supper, a time of remembering Christ's death and celebrating His resurrection. The Bible tells us we are to examine ourselves (I Cor 11:28) when we share this memorial feast. Believers are welcome to join us as we focus on the sacrifice Jesus made for us and the community He commissioned as His church. There is also a weekly offering. Your gift to us is your presence, contribution is for our members.

Our singing will be without instruments, our message will be from the Bible, and our focus will be directed towards God.

What will my children do while I'm in worship?
Most Sundays we have our Sonshine Worship for kids ages 3 - 4th grade.  They will leave after Communion, and spend about 25-30 minutes with a loving Children's Ministry team dedicated to teaching them in a fun environment.

We have classes on Sunday mornings at 9am and Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm so you can go to class and leave your children with loving and qualified volunteers.

How do I learn about becoming a member at Granny White Church of Christ?
One of our elders or one of our ministers would love to talk to you about placing membership with our congregation.
