Mission Statement: Bringing Granny White’s youth closer to God through prayer, Bible study and meaningful relationships.

In Acts 2:42-47, Luke gives us a description of what the church did to continue their growth. It seems that there were four major areas of life that they concentrated on to continue their wonderful work. It is the desire of the Granny White Youth Ministry to concentrate on those same areas:

1. EDUCATION Acts 2:42 “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching…”

GW Youth Education

The first area our youth need to focus on is the study of God’s Word. Some of the methods we have used:

  • Vacation Bible School
  • Monthly Devotionals
  • Sunday morning Bible class
  • Wednesday evening Bible class

2. FELLOWSHIP/ENCOURAGEMENT Acts 2:42b “…and to the fellowship to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

GW Youth Fellowship

The second area which the author mentions as one area for the rapid growth was fellowship. For our group to grow we must create a family atmosphere. Our teens’ closest friendships should come from our group.

  • Winter Lock In
  • King’s Island
  • Senior Sunday
  • Teen Tuesdays (Every Tuesday in the summer our teens get together for some fun, fellowship, and/or service)
  • Back-to-School bowling
  • Sounds game
  • Movie Nights
  • Pumpkin carving contest and bonfire
  • Christmas Parties
  • Mystery Trips

I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth…

1 John 1:4

3. Worship Acts 2:47 “Praising God and enjoying favor of all the people”

Luke continues his description of growth by describing the early church’s love of worshipping the Father. Our teens must develop a desire to worship not only on Sunday morning but to seek to make their lives worship to the Father.

  • Fall Retreat for 7th-12th grades
  • Camp
  • Monthly Devotionals

Sunday Morning worship

4. EVANGLISM/ OUTREACH Acts 47b “And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

GW Youth Evanglism

Our ultimate goal is that our teens will learn to spread the Word of God. It’s our job to plant the seed and watch God make it grow.

  • Warm Coats
  • Family Service Project (Families in the youth group take Thanksgiving dinner to needy families)
  • Adopt children for Christmas
  • Mexico Mission Trip
  • Teen Tuesday service projects
  • Back-to-School Backpack Project
