Below are the men who serve as the Elders of our congregation.

Will Adams started worshipping at Granny White in 2007, and became an elder in 2009.  He was married to Cyndi in April of 1987, and they have two children, Mary Beth and Palmer.  Will was born and raised in Nashville.  Will graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in accounting but has spent his entire career in banking.  Prior to serving as an elder he served as the treasurer and also served on the missions committee.  In his spare time he enjoys hunting and working on projects around the house.

Andy Bedingfield started worshiping at Granny White in 1988 and became an elder in 2006.  He was married to Susan on September 12, 1987, and they have two children, Sara and Jonathan.  Susan started attending Granny White in 1966.  Andy was born in Nashville, and has also lived in Chattanooga, Lewisburg, Brentwood, Cookeville, Blacksburg, VA, Newport RI, and Augusta Georgia.  Prior to being an elder, he served as a deacon in missions, technology, Inner City and worship.  Andy is has been an Electrical Engineer at MTEMC, the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Bridgestone, and now works for his own company, Soltus, which began in 1999.  He loves serving alongside his fellow elders, and loves the people he serves as an elder.  He enjoys working to help make the church be the church God desires.  He invites you to come and pay us a visit soon!

Mike Cochrane started worshiping at Granny White in 1984, and became an elder in 1998.  He was married to Rita in 1977, and they have three children - Chad, Kyle, and Lora.  Mike is originally from Nashville.  Mike works as an Engineer.  Before serving as elder he served as a deacon for Granny White.  Mike enjoys playing golf, traveling, and playing with his grandchildren.

Scott Ellis and his family came to Granny White in 1997. He was appointed a deacon in 1998 and served in that capacity until 2009. Scott along with his wife Sandra have overseen the warm coats from warm hearts program since it's beginning in 1999. Scott grew up in the Brentwood area of Nashville and graduated from Franklin High School in 1981. After attending Lipscomb College and graduating in 1985 he worked at a advertising agency as a graphic designer and art director. In 1991 Scott started his own portrait photography business which he stills operates to this day with his wife. Scott and Sandra were married in 1985 and have two daughters Somer and Aubrie. Scott was appointed a shepherd in 2009 and is involved in overseeing the grounds at the church and the Warm Coats program. He enjoys the great outdoors especially fishing and hiking.

Ronnie Farris started worshiping at Granny White in the fall of 1975 when he was a freshman at Lipscomb.  He was married to Susan on October 24, 1981 right in our building, and they have two children - Lauren Gregory and Jonathan Farris, both of whom are married.  Ronnie is originally from Columbia, TN and lived in North Carolina for a number of years.  Prior to being an elder, he served as youth minister, teacher, and deacon, focusing a lot on mission work.  He has worked as the manager of the Lipscomb University Post Office since September of 1979.  When not doing anything else, he and Susan enjoy camping and traveling.  Ronnie has always been impressed with how loving, welcoming, and inclusive this church family is.  From when he was a university student until now, he has always felt welcome and knows you will be too!

Don Hudson started worshiping at Granny White in 1986 and became an elder in 2010.  He was married to Linda on June 13, 1987, and they have three sons, Donnie, Dallon, and Davis.  Linda has been a member here since 1962.  Don was born in Central Florida.  He has worked as a Chiropractor since 1989.  Before serving as an elder Don served as our worship leader and taught teen classes.  His hobbies include hunting and watching football.

Dennis Loyd started worshiping at Granny White in 1986 and became an elder in 1996. He was married to Shirley in 1958, and they have three children - Lucinda Burris (husband Doug), Melanie Pennington (husband Alan), and Christopher. Dennis was born in Nashville. He preached at Granny White for ten years, sharing the pulpit with William Woodson. He has preached for a total of 60 years, and taught at Lipscomb for 41 years. He served as dean of students for 12 years as well. He retired in 2001 as professor of English. He presently serves as associate elder of "Gospel Advocate."

John Parker started worshiping at Granny White in 1998 and became an elder in 2000.  He married Jill on January 4, 1977, and they have two children, Robert and Sharon.  John was born in Jackson, TN.  He served as a Professor of English at Freed Hardeman University from 1969 until 1982, and as a Professor of English at Lipscomb University in 1982 and still teaches there today along with his wife.  His principal literary specialty is Shakespeare.  John also serves as a minister in various areas, especially in interim ministries and workshops with Jerrie Barber.  He loves Target shooting, horses, dogs, and photography.  His family loves the Granny White congregation!  They work with the mission program and visit the missionaries frequently, especially in New York and Greece.  John has written some religious materials and is the author of "Abide With Me: A Journey Through Great Christian Hymns" and "Bound and Loosed: Fundamentals of the Christian System."  He is currently working with Russ Sturgeon, a Granny White member, in making videos of the houses of great American authors.

Jim Ward started worshipping at Granny White in 1964 and became an elder in 1985.  He was married to Betty on December 20, 1964, and they have two children, Brad and David.  Jim grew up in Arkansas.  He retired from Lipscomb in 1998 after serving for many years as the Director of the University Library.  Jim enjoys running and exercising, and also enjoys photography.
